Inspections however are unannounced. This allows you to identify not only if staff and contractors know their procedures but if they implement them on a daily basis. Inspections are prepared with you but are usually confidential to your staff and contractors.

Inspections are a good choice (versus audits) once your quality control program has entered a more mature phase of implementation.
